About Us

Micro is an AI-powered super app built on top of email that helps entrepreneurs manage their businesses with simplicity. The app organizes data from email and other business tools into interactive “Micro Apps” for every workflow, from fundraising to task management, embedded in a modern email client experience.

Here's the TLDR on what we're building:

• Long-term - A micro application platform built on top of email that helps people manage their work and lives. Every workflow in email, from travel to deal flow management to newsletter consumption, will have its own UX that users can configure through prompting & notion-like components.
• Short term - A fundraising-focused CRM & lightweight email client. This is our wedge/way of delivering value ASAP before hitting feature parity for email (which takes a while). I have about 1000 founders who will try the product when it's ready.

• Team: Two full-time full-stack engineers, three contract engineers (backend, frontend, & AI/ML), and the founder (doing design, product, and everything else non-technical)
• Location: NYC (office in lower Manhattan going in 3-5 days a week)
• Runway: >2 years

What were looking for in a Head of Engineering/Technical Co-founder:

• Fearlessness - This is a really hard technical problem. Email is the largest unstructured dataset any human or company carries around with them and touches every aspect of life, which means the AI/ML problems we work on are extremely diverse, and the systems we build must scale early on. Users also have extremely high expectations for performance and speed.
• Intrinsically Motivated - I'm not doing this for the money or status. I'm doing this because I love building and I desperately want this to exist. The ideal partner feels the same.
• Committed - We have to work long hours and make real sacrifices to make this thing work.
• High integrity - Goes without saying.
• Well-connected with Top-Tier Engineers - The most important thing a technical leader can do is hire great engineers, so it's important to have a great network.
• Engineering Excellence - Ideally, this person has studied computer science, worked at companies known for holding a high bar for engineering, architected and built numerous kinds of applications using different technologies at every part of the stack, and built/led startup engineering teams. Some experience with AI and productivity tools would be awesome too.
• Based in NYC - or willing to relocate.
